The changed political conditions, the terror of the British, the exploitative attitude of the princely vassals and the political activities going on across the country were important in the circumstances responsible for the peasant movements in Rajasthan.
Bijolia Peasant Movement (1897 to 1841 AD) Establishment of the base of Bijolia (in present Bhilwara district) Rana
It was done by Ashok Parmar at the time of Sanga. Here the first organized peasant movement started, whose job was to establish more gardens by the jagirdar.
* In 1897 AD, the people of Uppermal region (Bijulia) sent Nanji and Thakri Patel to Maharana Mewar Fateh Singh to complain against the atrocities of the jagirdar, but Maharana did not pay attention to it and the then Thakur and Krishna Singh of Bijolia sent Nanji and Mr. Thakri Patel was exiled.
The farmers under the leadership of Sadhu Sitam Das, Fatehkaran Charan and Brahmdev did not pay any tax while protesting against the implementation of Lama (tax to be paid on becoming a new Thakur) by Krishna Singh's son Rao Prithvi Singh.
* In 1916 AD, on the request of Sadhu Sitaram Das, Vijay Singh Pathik (Bhupsingh) joined this movement and in 1917 established the Uptamala Kisan Panch Board.
* In order to investigate the justification of the demands of the farmers, the report of the Justice Bindu Lal Bhattacharya Commission of Inquiry, which was passed in 1919, recommended the abolition of the garden.
This movement was exposed at all India level through 'Pratap' newspaper (Ganeshashankar Vidyarthi) published from Kanpur.
* In 1922 AD with the intervention of Congress leaders, A. Yes. Yes. An agreement was reached between Holland and the farmers in which 35 out of 84 logs were waived.
